CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

As an organisation, we strive to operate as professionally, ethically and responsibly as possible at all times. We aim to meet and - where possible – exceed the highest standards in how we work with our customers, partners and our staff. We take our environmental and social responsibilities extremely seriously: we’re actively involved with several charities and support many staff in activities outside work.

Corporate social responsibility is an essential part of how we do business: we have clear determined policies and practical guidelines which are an essential part of our staff career development programmes. Everyone receives training and information so they understand our policies and how they translate into the workplace.

We have well established policies to reduce our energy consumption and our carbon footprint, whilst we’re increasing our recycling and lowering our waste emissions. Since 2007, we have reduced electricity consumption at our Head Office by 20% and we’re now working to make even greater savings by lowering the environmental impact of our vehicle emissions, and cutting our use of paper, water, hazardous substances and materials.

We already use cleaning products and equipment which have the least environmental impact, and constantly research new ranges which can reduce our environmental impact still further. As part of this process, all staff have ongoing training and receive information on using and promoting environmentally sound practices that are within budget and meet statutory requirements.

CSR is an integral part of our structure and culture: it has helped us to reduce our impact on the environment, meet the highest ethical standards and enjoy positive relationships with our local communities. Over the years, this approach has brought real benefits: not only in terms of expanding the business and meeting legal requirements, but in our ability to have a positive impact on our local communities and the wider world.
