David has overall responsibility for GBM’s future strategy, growth, performance and profitability. Appointed in 2010, he was previously employed by Alchemy, the private equity house, for whom he managed Regus, the office provider and TCG, the restaurant group. As a director of Gardner Merchant, David was a member of the management buy-out team which eventually sold to Sodexo; where as UK Chief Executive, he developed the company from catering to full facilities management.David plays golf regularly and enjoys watching rugby and cricket. Actively involved with several charities, he also chairs the Professional Cricketers’ Association’s Benevolent fund.
Ian has responsibility for all GBM’s finance, administration and IT functions. This wide ranging role covers Group financial reporting, contract management and providing commercial support for all GBM’s operational activities. Appointed in 2011, Ian has extensive management and financial experience gained in the construction, security, engineering and facilities management sectors.With a background in science and a BSc (Hons) in materials engineering, Ian initially enjoyed a career in stock broking, before moving into accountancy and gaining FCCA membership. Participating in many sports, Ian is also a keen angler; becoming a Trout Master in his first fly-fishing year.
David is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of GBM’s operations; from customer service through day-to-day management to sales and new business development. Joining GBM in 1988, David was originally Area Manager for the city of London. Over the intervening years, he has undertaken multiple operational roles, acquiring broad ranging management experience and considerable market expertise. He was appointed to Director in 2000.Before joining GBM, David pursued a career as a jeweller and spent time working in Europe. Now based at the company’s London headquarters, he lists golf and football as his main leisure activities.
Frank has overall responsibility for GBM’s facilities management business; his role encompasses new business development, strategy and the day-to-day management of a nationwide team. Previously Operations Director, Frank has managed multiple teams and has been responsible for developing GBM’s services across a broad range of industry sectors: he has particular expertise in the transport and retail markets. One of GBM’s founding Directors, Frank has more than 40 years’ experience in the facilities management sector.A former player, Frank has a keen interest in rugby; regularly travelling to support both Harlequins and England at local, home and international games.
John has overall responsibility for GBM’s operations in Scotland; his wide-ranging role includes day-to-day management, performance, profitability and new business development. Before joining GBM, John was national operations manager for United Carriers where he was responsible for more than 2500 staff, 35 depots and 700 vehicles. A distribution/logistics specialist, he was consistently recognised as one of the industry’s leading managers. John was appointed to GBM’s Board in 2007.John has a life-long interest in football: he signed a professional contract for Motherwell as a school boy, is a keen supporter and still plays regularly for a local team.
Sandra is responsible for all aspects of GBM’s sales and marketing operations to ensure the company’s continuous growth and expansion. In addition to developing new revenue streams, Sandra’s responsibilities include the successful implementation of key projects. Before taking on this role in 2000, she had operational responsibility for managing a portfolio of GBM key accounts across London.Sandra has considerable management experience gained across several different market sectors, including the hotel and hospitality industries. A City of London Liveryman, Sandra is also a member of multiple professional associations.
Steve has overall management responsibility for the growth, performance and acquisition of major accounts for GBM in the commercial sector. Operating nationwide, his role encompasses new business development, managing new bids, surveys and presentations. Steve also manages an extensive team of regional, area and project managers based throughout the UK. With an early career in recruitment consultancy, Steve has many years’ expertise managing large and small teams in different industries and locations.
Lee is responsible for the effective and profitable management of GBM’s retail operations across the south of England. A wide-ranging role, Lee’s responsibilities include developing new business, maintaining and strengthening client services, as well as the day-to-day management of the retail team. Since joining GBM in 1990, Lee has worked throughout the organisation, acquiring wide ranging expertise in the industrial, commercial and most recently, its retail operations.
Paul is responsible for the effective, profitable management of all GBM’s contracts within its commercial operation. This wide-ranging role includes business development, day-to-day contract and key account management and responsibility for a team of regional managers.Before joining GBM in 1999, Paul worked in the hotel and hospitality industries, where his expertise was recognised with several industry awards and he acquired considerable management experience across multiple locations and operations.
